A dynamical systems theory to help locate all the zeros of a vector function is developed. A global approach for identifying the system dynamics by the vector field \(F=-J^{-I}f,\) is outlined. Local results concerning the domains of attraction are established by defining a strict Lyapunov function valid for all zeros of f with asymptotically stable equilibria of the constructed differential equation. Numerical techniques based on the theory developed here will lead to new constructive methods for determining zeros of f.
