A generalized complex structure is some geometric structure introduced by \textit{N. Hitchin} [Q. J. Math. 54, No. 3, 281--308 (2003; Zbl 1076.32019)]. Let \(M\) be a smooth \(n\)-dimensional manifold, then the sum of the tangent and cotangent bundles \(T(M) \oplus T^\ast (M)\) is endowed with a natural symmetric bilinear form with signature \((n, n)\) and the skew-symmetric Courant bracket. A generalized almost complex structure on \(M\) is a map \( \mathcal J : T(M) \oplus T^\ast (M) \to T(M) \oplus T^\ast (M)\) such that \(\mathcal J^2 = -1\) and \(\mathcal J\) is an isometry of the Courant bracket. The generalized almost complex structure is said to be integrable to a generalized complex structure if its \(i\)-eigenbundle \(L \subset T(M) \oplus T^\ast (M)\) is Courant involutive. Generalized complex structures are used in particular in the string theory and in the theory of mirror symmetry. Partial (or generalized) flag manifolds are homogeneous spaces \(G/P\), where \(G\) is a complex semisimple Lie group and \(P\) is some parabolic subgroup in \(G\). There exists a complete classification of all partial flag manifolds with \(\le 4\) isotropy summands. In this article a classification of all invariant generalized complex structure on a partial flag manifold with at most four isotropy summands is given. It is done by proving that an invariant generalized almost complex structure is in some sense `constant' on each component of the isotropy representation. For each case of this classification all the possibilities for an invariant generalized almost complex structure to be integrable are described. The author remarks that the same reasoning, as in this article, can be used to describe the invariant generalized complex structures for partial flag manifolds with more than four isotropy summands. Here some cases with five or six isotropy summands are investigated. At the end of the article, the author points out some possible further steps in the study of generalized complex structures.
