The (exactly 70) strongly rational, holomorphic vertex operator algebras \(V\) of central charge 24 with non-zero weight-\(1\) space \(V_1\) were recently classified. An interesting problem is the determination of the automorphism groups \(\Aut(V)\) of these vertex operator algebras. (For example, the automorphism group of the conjecturally unique strongly rational, holomorphic vertex operator algebra \(V\) of central charge 24 with \(V_1=\{0\}\), namely the Moonshine module \(V^\natural\), is exactly the Monster group \(M\).) In this paper the author determines the automorphism groups of 14 strongly rational, holomorphic vertex operator algebras of central charge 24, which can be constructed in a particularly nice way, namely as \(\mathbb{Z}_2\)-orbifold constructions associated with Niemeier lattice vertex operator algebras and lifts of the \((-1)\)-involution on these lattices. For all 70 strongly rational, holomorphic vertex operator algebras \(V\) of central charge 24 with non-zero weight-\(1\) space, the automorphism group is infinite, but it is expected that the quotient by the inner automorphism group is finite. This is indeed shown to be true for the 14 strongly rational, holomorphic vertex operator algebras considered by the author and in each case the outer automorphism group is explicitly determined.
