Local null controllability of coupled degenerate systems with nonlocal terms and one control force (Q827643)

The paper is devoted to the problem of internal control of a class of one-dimensional nonlinear parabolic systems with nonlocal and weakly degenerate diffusion coefficients. The main result of the paper is given in Theorem 1.1. that establishes a local null controllability statement with one internal control for a system of two equations. The first two sections of the paper have introductory and preliminary character. In the next section, a Carleman-type inequality to solutions of the adjoint linearized problem is proved. This inequality allows to obtain an observability inequality. The next, 4th section, provides an analysis of the global null controllability of the linearized system. In the 5th section, the main result of the paper is proved. In the final, 6th section, the authors present some comments and remarks. The paper has also three appendices with some auxiliary matter.
