The author studies the 1D and 2D NLS equations with quadratic nonlinearity \(c_1 u^2+c_2 \overline{u}^2\) and proves the local well-posedness of the Cauchy problem in \(H^s\) for \(s\geq -1\) in 1D and \(s>-1\) in 2D. This result improves a previous one by Colliander, Delort, Kenig and Staffilani who obtained the same behaviour in the case \(c_2=0\).
