Factorizing operators on Banach function spaces through spaces of multiplication operators (Q847055)

The paper deals with factorization of operators \(T\) acting on a Banach function space \(X(\mu)\) over a finite measure \(\mu\). Under certain conditions, it is proved that \(T\) factorizes through a space of multiplication operators which can be understood as the optimal domain for \(T\). Examples and applications of the results, including the Hardy operator and a factorization theorem through Hilbert spaces, are given.
