On the cohomology of hyperkähler quotients (Q848890)

The authors extend the partial desingularization construction of Kirwan to hyper-kähler quotients. Moreover, they also formulate a criterion for surjectivity of the Kirwan map \(\kappa: H^{*}_{K}(M) \to H^{*}_{K}(\mu^{-1}(0))\). Finally, they prove that for a Hamiltonian linear hyper-kähler action of \(U(1)\) on a quaternionic vector space, \(-\| \mu_{\mathbb{C}} \|^{2} \) is flow-closed. They also conjecture that the result is still true if \(U(1)\) is replaced by any compact Lie group.
