      The paper is devoted to prove the following result: for an orbifold \(\mathcal X\) and a Dixmier-Douady class \(\alpha\in \text{H}^3(\mathcal X, \mathbb Z)\), the authors introduce the twisted cohomology \(\text{H}^*_c(\mathcal X,\alpha)\) and consider the \(\mathbb S^1\)-central extension representing the \(\mathbb S^1\)-gerbe determined by the class \(\alpha\), which admits a connection \(\theta\), a curving \(B\) and a 3-curvature \(\Omega\). The space \(\Omega^*_c(\Gamma, L)\) of all compactly supported smooth sections of the vector bundle \(\wedge T^*\Gamma \otimes L \to \Gamma\) admits a convolution product. To \(\theta_i, B_i, \Omega_i, i=1,2,3\) the covariant differentials \(\nabla_i,i=1,2,3\) are associated. Locally, \(\text{K}_\alpha^*(\mathcal X) \otimes \mathbb C\), \(\text{HP}_*(C^\infty_c(\Gamma,L))\) and \(\text{H}^*(\mathcal X,\alpha)\) agree with each other and each of these cohomology functors admits Mayer-Vietoris sequences, hence they agree globally. Then there are isomorphisms \[ \begin{tikzcd}\mathrm{K}^\ast_\alpha(\mathcal X) \otimes \mathbb{C} \rar["ch" '] & \mathrm{HP}_\ast(C^\infty_c(\Gamma,L)) \rar & \mathrm{H}_c^\ast(\mathcal X,\alpha)\rlap{\,,}\end{tikzcd} \] where \(ch\) is the non-commutative Chern character of Connes-Karoubi. The result is deduced from the local version in Proposition 4.11.
