After a preparatory discussion, the authors debate significant relations between the notion of distribution in the sense of eigenvalues, clustering, and attracting properties of matrix sequences. The main result establishes a link between distributions of the Hermitian sequences \(\{\text{Re}(A_n)\}\) and the sequence \(\{A_n\}\), with \(A_n\) of size \(n\). The case of the strong clustering is also considered. As a consequence a more general account concerning non-Hermitian perturbations of Hermitian matrix sequences is proved. Some extensions are inspected, namely the case of block Toeplitz and asymptotically periodic Jacobi matrix sequences.
