In this paper, the authors considered the following reaction-diffusion system coupled with an ordinary differential equation, which describes a model for host tissue degradation by bacteria: \[ \left\{ \begin{aligned} \displaystyle\partial_t u =\Delta u-u+ w- \gamma k u(1-w), \\ \displaystyle \partial_t w = k u(1-w), \end{aligned} \right. \] where \(\displaystyle u(t,x), x\in \mathbb{R}^n_+ \) describes the concentration of degradation enzymes produced by bacteria; \(\displaystyle w(t,x) \) is proportional to the population density of bacteria; \(\displaystyle\gamma, k>0,\) are fixed parameters. The authors proved the existence and uniqueness of solutions to problem (1) as well as the convergence to Stefan-like problems as \(k\longrightarrow \infty.\)
