Benson-Gordon's conjecture states that a compact solvmanifold of completely solvable type has a Kähler structure if and only if it is a complex torus. The paper under review surveys the developments which led to the proof of this conjecture. Moreover by proving that the Albanese morphism of a homotopy torus is a biholomorphic map, they give a classification of compact aspherical Kähler manifolds. The paper is very clear and has a complete list of references.
