Links of symbolic powers of prime ideals (Q884968)

Let \((R,\mathfrak{m})\) be a Cohen-Macaulay local ring of dimension \(d\geqslant 2\), with \(d\geqslant 3\) if \(R\) is regular. The author proves that for any positive integer \(t\geqslant 2\) and any regular sequence \(\,\{\alpha _1, \ldots , \alpha _d\}\,\) contained in \(\mathfrak{m}^t\) one has \(\,(\alpha _1, \ldots , \alpha _d): \mathfrak{m}^t \subseteq \mathfrak{m}^t\). This gives an affirmative answer to a question raised by \textit{C. Polini} and \textit{B. Ulrich} [Math. Ann. 310, 631--651 (1998; Zbl 0919.13013)].
