A bounded operator \(T\) on a separable Banach space \(X\) is called convex cyclic if there is a vector \(x \in X\), called convex cyclic vector for \(T\), such that the convex hull of the orbit \(\operatorname{Orb}(T,x)\) of \(x\) is dense in \(X\). The purpose of this paper is to present several results that relate this concept with other concepts in linear dynamics. First of all, the Hahn-Banach theorem is used to show that \(T\) is convex cyclic if and only if there is a vector \(x \in X\) such that \(\sup \operatorname{Re}(f(\operatorname{Orb}(T,x))=\infty\) for every non-zero continuous linear functional \(f\) on \(X\). The authors give an example of a convex cyclic operator \(S\) such that the point spectrum of its transpose map is empty, \(S\) is not weakly hypercyclic and \(S^2\) is not convex cyclic. This solves a question of \textit{H. Rezaei} in [Linear Algebra Appl. 438, No. 11, 4190--4203 (2013; Zbl 1311.47012)]. It is also proved that no \(m\)-isometry is convex cyclic and that every \(\varepsilon\)-hypercyclic vector is convex cyclic. A condition on the eigenvalues of an arbitrary operator for it to be convex cyclic is provided. Diagonalizable normal operators that are convex cyclic are fully characterized. Convex cyclic adjoint multiplication operators on a reproducing kernel Hilbert space of analytic functions on an open set of the complex plane are investigated.
