A ring of analytic functions in a domain in \(\mathbb{C}^n\) is Noetherian if it is finitely generated and closed under differentiation w.r.t. all variables. Noetherian functions include exponential, elliptic, modular and other functions. Inspired by a conjecture of Khovanskii stating that the local geometry of sets defined by Noetherian equations admits effective estimates (the latter is a generalization of the Bezout theorem) the authors consider the case when a one-parameter family of Noetherian equations degenerates for an isolated value of the parameter and the system has non-isolated solutions. They provide an effective upper bound for the local number of isolated solutions.
