This paper focuses on the design of generalized plane waves (GPWs) to approximate smooth solutions of the scalar wave equation. The idea developed in the present work is to design approximate solutions in the form of exponential of polynomials: the GPWs. The goal of this paper is to prove high-order approximation properties on sets of basis functions. Some convergence results are presented.
