For a Hopf algebra \(A\) over a field \(k\), let \(F(A)\) be the free abelian group generated by the isomorphism classes of finite-dimensional \(A\)-modules. \(F(A)\) is an algebra using tensor product. The Green ring \(r(A)\) of \(A\) is the quotient of \(F(A)\) modulo the relations given by direct sum. The Grothendieck ring \(G_0(A)\) is the quotient of \(F(A)\) using short exact sequences. The Hopf algebras considered come from a group datum \(D=(G,X,g,u)\), \(G\) a finite group, \(X\) a character, \(g\) an element in the center of \(G\) and \(u\) a scalar in \(k\), such that \(X^n=1\) or \(u(g^n-1)=0\), \(n\) the order of \(X(g)\). \(D\) is of nilpotent type if \(u(g^n-1)=0\) and of non-nilpotent-type if \(u(g^n-1)\) is not zero and \(X^n=1\). The Hopf algebra \(H_D\) of \(D\) is generated by \(y\) and all elements \(h\) in \(G\) with \(kG\) a subalgebra and \(y^n=u(g^n-1))\) and \(yh=X(h)y\) for \(h\) in \(G\). The \(h\) in \(G\) are group-like and \(y\) is \((1,g)\)-skew-primitive. \(H_D\) is a pointed Hopf algebra of rank one. In a previous paper, the authors studied the case of \(D\) of nilpotent type [Algebr. Represent. Theory 17, No. 6, 1901-1924 (2014; Zbl 1318.16032)]. In the paper under review, they study the non-nilpotent case. Topics studied for \(H=H_D\) include the indecomposable \(H\)-modules (a \(Z\)-basis of \(H_D\)), the structure of \(r(H)\) and \(G_0(H)\) and relations between them, and the Jacobson radical and idempotents of \(r(H)\). They present \(r(H)\) and \(G_0(H)\) for the Radford Hopf algebra.
