The authors consider the general case of nonuniform exponential dichotomies associated to a nonautonomous linear equation of the form \[ x^{\prime}=A(t) x \] in a Banach space. They study the robustness of nonuniform exponential dichotomies under linear perturbations in Banach spaces, looking for conditions that guarantee robustness. Contrarily to some previous works, one does not assume that function \(t\mapsto\|A(t)\|\) is bounded. The case of nonuniform exponential contractions is also considered. These correspond to dichotomies whose associated projections are the identity operators. The nonautonomous discrete time dynamics is also analyzed, corresponding to the iteration of a sequence \((A_n)_n\) of bounded linear operators with bounded inverse. One obtains similar versions of the results in the continuous case.
