Summary: The notion of near \(S^{\ast}\)-compactness is introduced in \(L\)-topological spaces based on \(S^{\ast}\)-compactness. Its properties are investigated and the relations between it and other types of near compactness are obtained. Moreover many characterizations of near \(S^{\ast}\)-compactness are presented.
