By minimizing a quadratic functional weighted by smoothing parameters, a \(C^r\)-bivariate spline surface \((r\geq 1)\) is constructed on a uniform triangular mesh of Powell-Sabin-type. The convergence and optimization of smoothing parameters is particularly considered.
