Let \(X\) be a real reflexive Banach space and let \(L: D(L) \subset X \to X^*\) be a densely defined, linear and maximal monotone operator. Further, let \(T: D(T) \subset X \to 2^{X^*}\) be a strongly quasibounded and maximal monotone operator such that \(0 \in D(T)\) and \(0 \in T(0)\) and let \(C: D(C) \subset X \to X^*\) be a bounded, demicontinuous map of type \((S_+)\) with respect to \(D(L)\). The authors present the construction of the topological degree theory for the sum \(L + T + C\), describe its main properties and give applications to some existence results. As example, the initial-boundary value problem for some partial differential equation is considered.
