This paper gives a construction of Banach Lie-Poisson spaces using the Poisson induction and coinduction procedure. Banach Lie-Poisson spaces have been introduced by the authors in a preceding paper. These spaces are useful in the study of the theory of Hamiltonian systems with infinitely many degrees of freedom. For infinite-dimensional systems, the Lie-Poisson bracket formulation is mostly formal. The aim of this work is to formulate this formal approach. After recalling the relevant definitions and results, the authors apply the Poisson induction and coinduction procedures to the Banach Lie-Poisson space of trace class operators. The case of bidiagonal operators is also discussed.
