The quantization of an arbitrary manifold is a deep and subtle problem in mathematical physics. Here the author considers the case of the standard sphere from the viewpoint of the deformation quantization. Various definitions which appear in the literature are reviewed and compared and the variation are collected in a table form. The favorite one is the so called \textit{order \(n\) strict deformation quantization} and the conclusion is that no scheme than of second order should be considered as a real quantization.
