Let \(K\) be a field. The algebra \(\mathbb S_n\) of one-side inverses is an associative \(K\)-algebra with \(2n\) generators \(x_i,y_i\), \(i=1,\dots,n\), and defining relations \(x_1y_1=\cdots=x_ny_n=1\), \([x_i,y_j]=[x_i,x_j]=[y_i,y_j]=0\) for all \(i\neq j\), where \([a,b]=ab-ba\) is the commutator of elements \(a\) and \(b\). In this paper, some properties of the algebra \(\mathbb S_n\) are studied. The algebra \(\mathbb S_n\) is neither left nor right Noetherian but the set of its ideals satisfies the a.c.c., and the ideals commute; the classical Krull dimension of \(\mathbb S_n\) is \(2n\), but the weak and the global dimensions of \(\mathbb S_n\) are \(n\); the prime and maximal spectra of \(\mathbb S_n\) are found; the simple \(\mathbb S_n\)-modules are classified; the algebra \(\mathbb S_n\) is central, prime and catenary; the set \(\mathbb I_n\) of idempotent ideals of \(\mathbb S_n\) is found explicitly, the set \(\mathbb I_n\) is a finite distributive lattice and cardinality of the set \(\mathbb I_n\) is equal to the Dedekind number \(\partial_n\). Some others results on the algebra \(\mathbb S_n\) are also obtained.
