The problem of finding common fixed points for an infinite family of strict pseudo-contraction mappings in the sense of \textit{F. E. Browder} and \textit{W. V. Petryshyn} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 20, 197--228 (1967; Zbl 0153.45701)] is the main goal of this paper. The authors introduce a new so called \(W\)-mapping, inspired by \textit{G. Cai} and \textit{C. S. Hu} [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 71, No.~12 (A), 6044--6053 (2009; Zbl 1178.47043)]. The \(W\)-mapping is a sequence of mappings \(W_n\) generated by the infinite family of strict pseudo-contractions from an uniformly smooth Banach space. By means of these mappings and by means of four real sequences from the interval \((0,1)\), the iterations, which converge to the solution of a variational inequality, are defined. Two strong convergence theorems are proved, after a lot of results expressed in nine lemmas. The results obtained in this paper improve and extend some previous results published before.
