      Denote by \(\gamma\) the Gauss measure on \({\mathbb R}^n\). The Ornstein-Uhlenbeck operator \({\mathcal L}\) is the closure in \(L^2(\gamma)\) of the operator \({\mathcal L}_0\) defined by \[ {\mathcal L}_0 f = -\frac{1}{2}\Delta f + x \cdot \nabla f. \] \textit{G. Mauceri} and \textit{S. Meda} [J. Funct. Anal. 252, No. 1, 278--313 (2007; Zbl 1136.46027)] showed that for each \(u\) in \({\mathbb R}\setminus 0\) and \(r>0\) the operator \((r {\mathcal I} + {\mathcal L})^{iu}\) is bounded from \(H^1(\gamma)\) to \(L^1(\gamma)\), where \(H^1(\gamma)\) is an atomic Hardy space. The authors prove that \((r {\mathcal I} + {\mathcal L})^{iu}\) is not bounded from \(h^1(\gamma)\) to \(L^1(\gamma)\), where \(h^1(\gamma)\) is a local Hardy space of Goldberg type. This result is in sharp contrast with the Euclidean case. Indeed, it is well-known that the operator \(({\mathcal I} - \Delta)^{iu}\) is bounded from \(h^1({\mathbb R}^n)\) to \(L^{({\mathbb R}^{n})}\).
