The present paper is devoted to the study of quasiregular mappings on manifolds. The purpose of it is to generalize some very well known and important results in complex analysis on the plane to spaces of greater dimension, particularly to Riemannian manifolds of finite dimension. The first main result (Theorem 1.1) is the following. Suppose that \(f:M\rightarrow N\) is a non-constant quasiregular mapping between \(n\)-dimensional noncompact Riemannian manifolds without of boundaries. Then, under certain conditions on \(M\) and \(f\), \[ \limsup_{\tau\rightarrow \infty}\min_{h(m)=\tau} u(f(m))=\infty, \] where \(u\) is the so-called growth function and \(h\) is some exhaustion function of the manifold \(M\). This result generalizes the well-known theorem of Wiman about the growth of analytical functions in the plane. The second main statement is as follows: Suppose that \(f\) is as above. Under some additional requirements on \(f\), for every \(k\in {\mathbb N}\) the condition \(u(f)|_U\geq k\) holds for some set \(U\) which lies in the \(h\)-sphere \(\Sigma_h(t_k)\) at some \(t_k\). This statement generalizes the Arima theorem for analytical functions in the plane.
