The author proves a few perturbation results on the Browder spectrum for homomorphisms of Banach algebras having the so-called Riesz property. The applications are mainly devoted to the special class of operators called by the author ``polynomially Fredholm perturbation elements''. In particular, their spectral structure is investigated.
