The authors study non-unique factorization in the context of Krull monoids with infinite cyclic class group, where a Krull monoid is a commutative, cancellative monoid that satisfies the ascending chain condition on divisorial ideals and is completely integrally closed (e.g., the monoid of nonzero elements in a Krull domain). The arithmetic in a Krull monoid is determined by its class group \(G\) and the set \(G_P \subseteq G\) of classes that contain prime divisors. Most of the work on non-unique factorization has centered on the case when the class group is finite; the first work on Krull domains with infinite cyclic divisor class group was by \textit{S. T. Chapman} and \textit{W. W. Smith}, and the reviewer [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 96, No. 2, 97--112 (1994; Zbl 0831.13001)]. In this present paper, the authors investigate several invariants (for Krull monoids with \(G \cong \mathbb{Z}\)) used to measure the lack of unique factorization such as elasticity, tame and catenary degree, and sets of lengths. In particular, they relate the finiteness of these invariants to conditions on \(G_P\)
