The goal of the paper under review is to extend some work by \textit{J. Sjöstrand} [``Pseudodifferential operators and weighted normed symbol spaces'', Serdica Math. J. 34, 1--38 (2008)] on pseudodifferential operators with non-smooth symbols in a certain family of symbols \(\widetilde M^{\infty,{\mathcal A}}\) parametrized by algebras \({\mathcal A}\) over a lattice \(\Lambda\subset {\mathbb R}^{2d}\). The fundamental results on these operators refer to almost diagonalization with respect to time-frequency shifts, \(L^2({\mathbb R}^d)\)-boundedness, the algebra property when symbols are in a given class \(\widetilde M^{\infty,{\mathcal A}}\), and stability property of this class when taking inverses. When \({\mathcal A}\) is the convolution algebra \(\ell^1({\mathbb Z}^{2d})\), the symbol class coincides with the Sjöstrand \(M^{\infty,1}\) class and the main results of Sjöstrand are recovered. A new proof of \textit{R. Beals}' result [Duke Math. J. 44, 45--57 (1977; Zbl 0353.35088)] about the Hörmander class \(S^0_{0,0}\) is also obtained.
