Observer-based switched-linear system identification
The main result of this research is Theorem 4.2 which defines the conditions for estimates discrete-states \(P_t = (A_t,b_t,c_t^T)\) of state-space model \N\[\Nx(k+1) = A_{\varphi(k)} x(k) + b_{\varphi(k)}u(k),\N\]\N\[\Ny(k) = c_{\varphi(k)}^Tx(k)\N\]\Nfrom noiseless input-output measurements \(u(k), y(k).\) The sparse optimization is employed as part of the a new identification framework to the avoid traditional approach based on the rank evaluation of an extended observability matrix over time. Combination of the state-space modeling with hybrid identification techniques is underlined in numerical example. It is outlined that the identification problem for single-input/single-output, switched linear systems remains a future work.
