Abstract: Let OmegasubsetneqmathbbRn+1 be open and let mu be some measure supported on partialOmega such that mu(B(x,r))leqC,rn for all xinmathbbRn+1, r>0. We show that if the harmonic measure in Omega satisfies some scale invariant Ainfty type conditions with respect to mu, then the n-dimensional Riesz transform R_mu f(x) = int frac{x-y}{|x-y|^{n+1}},f(y),dmu(y) is bounded in L2(mu). We do not assume any doubling condition on mu. We also consider the particular case when Omega is a bounded uniform domain. To this end, we need first to obtain sharp estimates that relate the harmonic measure and the Green function in this type of domains, which generalize classical results by Jerison and Kenig for the well-known class of NTA domains.

This paper investigates the relationship between the harmonic measure \(\omega\) for a domain \(\Omega \subset \mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) and the \(n\)-dimensional Riesz transform with respect to a measure \(\mu\) on \(\partial\Omega\) satisfying \(\mu (B(x,r))\leq Cr^{n}\) for all \(x\in \mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) and \(r>0\). The main result applies to general domains \(\Omega\) and shows that, provided \(\omega\) satisfies a certain scale-invariant \(A_{\infty}\)-type condition with respect to \(\mu\), the Riesz transform is bounded in \(L^{2}(\mu)\). The authors obtain a stronger result in the particular case where \(\Omega\) is a uniform domain by using a boundary Harnack principle of \textit{H. Aikawa} [J. Math. Soc. Japan 53, No. 1, 119--145 (2001; Zbl 0976.31002)] to obtain new estimates of harmonic measure for such domains.
