For a compact, non-degenerate starshaped hypersurface in \(\mathbb{R}^8,\) for which every prime closed characteristic has Maslov-type index \(\not= -1,\) the authors show the existence of a least \(4\) geometrically distinct closed characteristics.\N\NThere are previous related results by \textit{H.
