A general existence and uniqueness theory for implicit differential- algebraic equations
Existence and uniquenessimplicit differential- algebraic equationsindex type conditionsinitial value problems
Implicit ordinary differential equations, differential-algebraic equations (34A09) Initial value problems, existence, uniqueness, continuous dependence and continuation of solutions to ordinary differential equations (34A12) Nonlinear ordinary differential equations and systems (34A34) Ordinary differential equations and systems on manifolds (34C40)
Existence and uniqueness for solutions of initial value problems involving implicit differential-algebraic equations \(f(t,x,x')=0\) are established under index type conditions. The main result requires the index of the equation to be one, but equations of higher index can also be treated if the derivative of F with respect to \(x'\) has constant rank.
