Abstract: Let be a fixed field. We attach to each column-finite quiver a von Neumann regular -algebra in a functorial way. The algebra is a universal localization of the usual path algebra associated with . The monoid of isomorphism classes of finitely generated projective right -modules is explicitly computed.
