The main goal of this paper is to study the dependence of mappings realized by the fractional integration operator with variable order \(I^{\alpha(\cdot)}_{a+}\) and the fractional differential operator with variable order \(D^{\alpha(\cdot)}_{a+}\) on local values of \(\alpha(x)\) and \(\omega(t,x)\), where the variable characteristics \(\omega(t,x)\) belong to the Zygmund-Bary-Stechkin class as functions of \(t\) uniformly with respect to \(x\). The main results are theorems on the action of fractional integration and differentiation operators from non-standard generalized Hölder spaces of functions defined on a segment of the real axis (whose local continuity modulus has a majorant varying from point to point) to a space of similar nature. One of the tools used is the method of Zygmund-type estimates which are local and depend on points \(x \in [a,b]\).
