The author investigates evolution inclusions in a real Hilbert space \(H\) having the form \[ (E):\quad \,p(t)u''(t)+q(t)u'(t)\in A u(t)+f(t)\,\text{a.e. for\,}\, t\in [0, +\infty) \] with the condition \[ (B):\qquad \,u(0)=x\in \overline{D(A)} , \] where \(A:D(A)\subset H\rightsquigarrow H\) is a maximal monotone operator whose graph contains \((0,0)\) and \(p,q\in L^{\infty}(0,\infty; \mathbb{R})\). More precisely, an existence and uniqueness result for the existence of a bounded solution of \((E)\) and \((B)\) is given in the case when ess \(\inf p> 0 \), \(q^{+}\in L^{1}(\mathbb{R_{+}};\mathbb{R})\), where \(q^{+}(t):= \max \{ q(t),0\}\) and \(f\in Y\cap L_{\mathrm{loc}}^{2}([0,\infty); H) \), \(Y=L^{1}(0,\infty;H;t\sqrt{a_{-}(t)}dt)\) and \(a_{-}(t)=\exp (-\int^{t}_{0}\frac{q^{-}(\tau)}{p(\tau)}d\tau)\). Further, the corresponding solution \(u(\cdot)\) of \((E)\) and \((B)\) satisfies \[ \sup_{t\geq 0} a_{-}(t) \| u(t) \| ^{2}< \infty. \] Finally, the author shows that these results can be used to approximate solutions of some nonlinear parabolic and hyperbolic problems.
