Quadri-algebras, preLie algebras, and the Catalan family of Lie idempotents (Q2674547)

A Lie idempotent is an idempotent of the group algebra of the symmetric group which acts on the free associative algebra as a projector onto the free Lie algebra. In [\textit{F. Menous} et al., Adv. Appl. Math. 51, No. 2, 177--227 (2013; Zbl 1290.16037)] there was constructed a family of Lie idempotents of the descent algebra (which is a subalgebra of the group algebra of the symmetric group, introduced by \textit{L. Solomon} [J. Algebra 41, 255--268 (1976; Zbl 0355.20007)]). In the paper under review the authors give ``a much simpler expression of these idempotents, in terms of the recently introduced PBW basis of the Lie module [\textit{L. Solomon}, J. Comb. Theory 4, 363--375 (1968; Zbl 0174.06601)].''
