The authors consider the direct and inverse scattering problems for the 2 dimensional ZS-AKNS (Zakharov, Shabat-Ablowitz, Kaup, Newel, Segur) system on the positive real semiaxis with general Dirichlet type boundary conditions. The allowed potentials belong to \(L^{1}(\mathbb{R}_{+} )\cap L^{p}(\mathbb{R}_{+}), p\geq 1\). The main result is a complete description of the space of scattering functions. An algorithm for reconstruction of the potential and of the boundary conditions from the scattering function is given. They also prove that the scattering map is a homeomorphism between the data space and the space of scattering functions, endowed with appropriate topologies. The authors' approach is based on the paper [\textit{C. Frayer} et al., Inverse Probl. 25, No. 11, Article ID 115007, 25 p. (2009; Zbl 1181.35330)], where similar problems on the whole real line are considered.
