It is a historical issue to look for exponential bases of Hilbert spaces \(L^2(\mu)\), where \(\mu\) is a probability measure on \(\mathbb{R}^d\). If \(\mu\) is given, a spectrum of \(\mu\) is a set of frequencies \((\lambda)_{\lambda\in \Gamma}\) such that the corresponding set of exponential \((\exp(\lambda\cdot) )_{\lambda\in \Gamma}\) forms an orthonormal basis of \(L^2(\mu)\). It is known that the spectrum of a measure contains important information regarding the geometrical properties of \(\mu\). In this article, the authors build measures whose spectrum \(\Gamma\) are prescribed in advance. The proofs are based on standard harmonic and Fourier analysis techniques, and on previous results by the same authors. The paper is short, nicely written, and very pleasant to read.
