Multiplicity of solutions of Dirichlet second order boundary value problems with derivative dependance (Q6056686)

The authors of this interesting paper are concerned with the two-point boundary value problem \[ x''(t) + f(t, x(t), x'(t)) = 0, \; \; t \in (0, 1), \] \[ x(0) = 0, \; \; x(1) = 0, \] where \(f \in C([0, 1] \times \mathbb{R} \times \mathbb{R}, \mathbb{R})\). They first establish new fixed point theorems for a special wedge in an appropriate Banach space and then use them in order to obtain multiplicity results for this problem when \(f\) satisfies certain conditions. Three pertinent examples are also included.
