Stability analysis and observer design for nonlinear diffusion processes

From MaRDI portal

This paper deals with stability of a nonlinear reaction-diffusion process and its convergence rate. The technique is based on an extension of tools of contraction theory recently developed by the two authors. Recent results on stability theory, referred to as contraction analysis are extended to partial differential equations such as reaction-diffusion processes. Contraction properties of the Laplace operator are studied and then stability and convergence rates are explicitly quantified. Numerical aspects are also discussed as well as extensions to other classes of distributed systems. For the entire collection see [Zbl 0915.00063].
