The paper deals with the behavior of solutions to the Cauchy problem for semilinear parabolic equations with a singular power nonlinearity. As well known in the case of supercritical heat equation, if two solutions are initially close enough near the spatial infinity, then these solutions approach each other. The author shows that similar result holds true in the case of semilinear parabolic equations with a singular absorption term. A universal lower bound is also obtained for the rate of convergence which implies the optimality of the result. The proofs make use of a comparison method based on matched asymptotic expansion.
