In this interesting paper, the author improves many results on the existence of common hypercyclic vectors for various kinds of operators. One of the main results in the paper, e.g., tells us that if \(X\) is a complex topological vector space such that \(X^*\not=\{0\}\) then, for \(T\in L(X)\), the family \(\{aT+bI: (a,b)\in \Lambda\subseteq \mathbb R^+\times \mathbb C\}\) of operators has no common hypercyclic vector whenever \(\Lambda\) has positive three-dimensional Lebesgue measure. On the other hand, if \(T_a\) is the translation operator \(T_af(z)=f(z-a)\) acting on the Fréchet space \(H(\mathbb C)\) of entire functions, then the double parametrized family \(\{bT_a: a,b\in \mathbb C^*\}\) does have a dense \(G_\delta\)-set of common hypercyclic vectors. This extends a result of \textit{G.\,Costakis} and \textit{M.\,Sambarino} [Adv.\ Math.\ 182, No.\,2, 278--306 (2004; Zbl 1066.47005)]. Answering a question of \textit{F.\,Bayart} and \textit{S.\,Grivaux} [J.~Funct.\ Anal.\ 226, No.\,2, 281--300 (2005; Zbl 1089.47008)], it is shown that the family \(\{zM_\varphi^*: b^{-1}<|z|<a^{-1}\}\) has a common hypercyclic vector, where \(M_\varphi\) is the multiplication operator \(f\mapsto \varphi f\) on \(H^2\), \(a=\inf\{|\varphi(z)|: z\in\mathbb D\}\) and \(b=\sup\{|\varphi(z)|: z\in\mathbb D\}\). The paper, that contains a wealth of other material, concludes with several open questions, among them the following: Let \(X\) be a separable \(F\)-space such that \(X^*\) is infinite-dimensional. Is it true that there exists a hypercyclic operator \(T\in L(X)\)?
