Motivated by the paper of \textit{I. D. Morris} [J. Funct. Anal. 262, No. 3, 811--824 (2012; Zbl 1254.47006)], the author presents a Gel'fand-type spectral formula under switching constraints, generalizing the Berger-Wang formula [\textit{M. A. Berger} and \textit{Y. Wang}, Linear Algebra Appl. 166, 21--27 (1992; Zbl 0818.15006)]. In addition, several equivalent conditions to the absolutely asymptotic stability for a linear system obeying switching constraints are provided.
