The authors discuss an extension of Darboux integrability to germs of complex local analytic vector fields and to formal vector fields in \(\mathbb{C}^n\). They study the effect of local Darboux integrability on analytic normalization using the theory of Poincaré-Dulac normal forms. They consider local analytic or formal differential systems on \(\mathbb{C}^n\) of the form \[ \dot{x}= F(x)= A x + \sum_{k \geq 0} f^{(k)} (x) \tag{1} \] with a linear map \(A=DF(0)\), and every \(f^{(k)}\) a homogeneous vector valued polynomial of degree \(k\). The main result is: Assume that system (1) is in Poincaré-Dulac normal form. Then every formal (resp. local) Darboux first integral of this system is also a first integral of the semisimple part of the linearization, i.e. of \(\dot{x}=Ax\). This result extends previous known results on local analytic and formal first integrals to Darboux first integrals, and the arguments used in its derivation, have a number of consequences derived in the same work. Moreover the authors determine local restrictions on classical Darboux integrability of polynomial systems.
