The paper is mainly dealing with minimizers of a vector optimization problem with a variable-order structure which are approximate solutions. Such solutions are usually generated by numerical algorithms for solving optimization problems. The author introduces an algorithm with approximate nondominate, approximate minimal and approximate minimizers with respect to a variable order structure. He defines different kinds of approximate elements like \( \varepsilon k^0 \)-nondominated, \(\varepsilon k^0 \)-minimizer and \( \varepsilon k^0 \)-minimal elements. He shows some properties of approximate elements, defining a nonlinear scalarization method for characterizing the approximate elements with respect to a variable-order structure. The scalarization method is based on suitable nonlinear functionals on the image space. The paper contains a rich list of literature and a detailed information about the history of the problem.
