On the growth of semigroups and perturbations (Q2634950): Difference between revisions

In this work the author investigates the boundedness of a linear semigroup, generated by a closed densely defined operator in a Banach space \(X\), in terms of the semigroup's Cesàro-average and the behavior of the resolvent of the generator at the origin. The author also establishes a characterization for generators of \(\varphi\)-bounded strongly continuous semigroups, which is a generalization of the Hille-Yosida's theorem. Finally, the author uses the results to obtain the effects on the type of growth, when one perturbs the infinitesimal operator.
