In a seminal paper, \textit{E. Lutwak} et al. [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc. (3) 90, No. 2, 497--520 (2005; Zbl 1074.52005)] defined \(L_p\) John ellipsoids via solving the optimization problem of minimizing the total \(L_p\) curvature of a convex body by volume preserving linear transformations. This family of ellipsoids, associated to a convex body containing the origin in its interior, contains the John, the Legendre and the Petty ellipsoids as special cases. In this paper, the author introduces a dual optimization problem, gives necessary and sufficient conditions for the solution, and proves a volume ratio inequality for it.
