For a symmetric sequence space\ \(E\) define the associate Banach space \(C_{E}\) of all compact operators \(u\) on the Hilbert space \(\ell _{2}\). The complete norm of \(C_{E}\) is define by \(\left\Vert u\right\Vert _{C_{E}}=\left\Vert s(u)\right\Vert _{E}\), where \(s(u)=\left( s_{n}(u)\right) _{n}\) is the sequence of \(s\)-numbers of \(u\). Also define \(S_{E}=\left( \bigoplus\nolimits_{n=1}^{\infty }\mathbb{M}_{n}\right) _{C_{E}},\) where \( \mathbb{M}_{n}\) stands for the set of all \(n\times n\) matrices and the direct sum is taken in the sense of disjoint supports. The main objective of this work is to prove that \(F=\ell _{2}\) whenever \(E\) and \(F\) are two separable symmetric sequence spaces such that \( C_{F}\hookrightarrow S_{E}.\) Note that the most difficult case is when the space \(E\) has a subspace isomorphic to \(\ell _{2}.\) The authors solve this problem by assuming that \(E\) satisfying the property: if \(\left( y_{n}\right) _{n}\) is a normalized block basic sequence of the standard unit vector basis \(\left( y_{n}\right) _{n}\) of \(E\) such that \(\left\Vert y_{n}\right\Vert _{\infty }\longrightarrow 0\), then there exists a subsequence of \(\left( y_{n}\right) _{n}\) which is equivalent to the unit vector basis of \(\ell _{2}\). The proof of this result based on the so-called subsequence splitting property of ideals of compact operators [\textit{F. A. Sukochev}, Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 124, No. 5, 1517--1527 (1996; Zbl 0865.46052)].
