Classes of maximal surfaces on Carnot groups (Q2202762): Difference between revisions

This paper contains a discussion of graph surfaces in nilpotent Lie groups with sub-Lorentzian geometric structure. Such graph surfaces are a generalization of Euclidean graphs to the setting of contact mappings between appropriately structured nilpotent Lie groups. The author provides conditions for the well-posedness of the maximality of the area functional on these graph surfaces. This continues their previous work from, for example [the author, Sib. Math. J. 61, No. 4, 648--670 (2020; Zbl 1451.53048); translation from Sib. Mat. Zh. 61, No. 4, 823--848 (2020)].
